5 Projects That Versi-Foam® Is Built For

With spray foam insulation, the possibilities for application are endless. Versi-Foam®’s products can be used for so much more than just residential and commercial wall insulation. No matter what your project is and regardless of its size, our spray foam insulation kits are easy to use, affordable, and dependable. Get some inspiration from these five different projects that Versi-Foam® is perfect for.

Types of Versi-Foam® projects

You can use spray foam insulation for residential and commercial construction, but Versi-Foam® comes in handy for all different types of applications, including the following five uses: air sealing, condensation control, sound dampening, roofing repairs, and pool and spa insulation.

1. Air sealing

Air sealing a home or building is important in keeping unwanted hot or cold air, pests, allergens, pollutants, and more out. Spray foam insulation, like Versi-Foam®, is used to keep your structure airtight and does so better than other products on the market, like fiberglass or cellulose insulation. When you seal every hole, crack, and fissure, you also increase the energy efficiency of the structure, too, saving you money in both the short and long term.

2. Condensation control

In using spray foam insulation as a sealant, you get the added bonus of your building or home being protected from moisture, including minor leaks and condensation. Due to the low permeance of Versi-Foam®’s products, you won’t have to deal with condensation issues; our spray foam shields your structure from mold and mildew growth. With this level of protection, you will spend less money on both general maintenance and potential problems, and your structure will enjoy an extended lifespan.

3. Sound dampening or control

No one wants to hear whoever’s next door to them nor whatever is going on outside the building they’re in, which is why it’s so important to include sound dampening or control during construction. This includes both commercial buildings, like offices, hospitals, and parking structures, and residential spaces, like apartments, condos, and single-family homes.

Closed cell spray foam will not absorb sound, but it can control it and prevent the transmission of sound between rooms. In public spaces, this use of spray foam will help muffle sound in loud rooms and maintain privacy. Meanwhile, open cell spray foam insulation can help reduce sound by creating a barrier that diminishes an echo.

4. Roofing repairs

Bring an older roof back by repairing it with spray foam insulation. Whether in an emergency situation due to leakage or as a means to extend the life of an older roof, Versi-Foam® can be applied over any roofing system. Particularly in the case of an emergency, such as damage caused by a natural disaster, spray foam is incredibly effective and buys you or your client time to receive funding or an insurance payout.

Moreover, roofing insulation can be used to repair polyurethane foam roofing systems; create flashings and seal penetrations; fill pitch pockets; and seal fluted edges on metal roofing systems. It can also be used as a temporary night seal for a single-ply project.

5. Pool and spa insulation

While covers can help keep pools and hot tubs at a steady temperature, spray foam insulation is what will keep them from losing heat on both the sides and bottom. To adequately insulate your pool or spa, you’ll need to apply a minimum of two-inch (2″) thickness of medium density polyurethane spray foam directly to the shell. Not only will the water stay consistently warm, but pool and spa insulation has been proven to save people money by significantly reducing their monthly operating costs when used in conjunction with a cover.
